A Day in the Life of Dillon Mangham
We’re shining the spotlight on Dillon Mangham, Director of Sales & Recruiting at DocStar Medical Partners. Based in our Texas office, Dillon brings intensity, clarity, and a hands-on leadership style that inspires both our sales and recruiting teams. Here’s a closer look at what drives his day and his approach to building success from the inside out.
What does a typical morning look like for you?
My mornings start with checking in with the team—making sure everyone has their goals and game plan for the day. I connect with recruiters to talk through the roles we’re focusing on, then jump into urgent tasks. I like to knock out follow-ups early so I can get on the phone and start conversations with people I’m trying to move forward.
What’s your favorite part of your role as Director of Sales & Recruiting?
Being hands-on in multiple areas. I’ve always enjoyed teaching and motivating, and this role gives me the freedom to coach the team and pass along knowledge. What’s really rewarding is when something I’ve been emphasizing finally clicks for someone in a real situation—that kind of growth is what makes it all worth it.
How do you approach juggling both client relationships and team development?
I’m always direct and honest. I don’t shy away from pointing out the elephant in the room, because clear communication is key. Whether it’s with clients or our team, getting on the same level through transparency builds trust, and trust drives performance.
What do you enjoy most about leading your team at DocStar?
Being a source of clarity. This industry isn’t black and white—it’s full of gray areas. Helping the team navigate that with confidence and direction is something I take a lot of pride in.
How do you recharge outside of work?
I stay active. I play in a men’s baseball league, hit the pool whenever I can, spend time with my kids, and play guitar. Anything that gets me outside or lets me unplug is how I recharge.
What’s been your biggest lesson during your time at DocStar?
Building rapport and trust through transparency and honesty is essential. That applies to both clients and providers—and it always pays off in the long run.
What advice would you give someone just starting in recruiting?
Understand the “why” behind everything. No matter how long it takes, figuring out the reasoning behind each scenario will make you better, faster.
What’s your proudest moment so far at DocStar?
Being trusted by leadership to step into this role as Director of Sales & Recruiting. That belief in me means a lot, and I carry that responsibility with pride every day.
We’re proud to have Dillon leading the charge in Texas-driving results, coaching with intention, and always leading with clarity and heart.
