Shaina Willigar

An Interview with our Director of Credentialing, Shaina Willigar

Shaina joined the DocStar team in February 2021. In the time since her arrival, Shaina has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence and has significantly impacted the trajectory of our credentialing department. In her capacity as Director of Credentialing, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the team responsible for the meticulous credentialing of our providers. Her leadership ensures the successful and timely completion of the credentialing process, facilitating seamless start dates and full privileging for our providers. Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with Shaina to gain insights into her experience and journey with DocStar. Take a few minutes to learn about Shaina below! Can you share a bit about your journey in the healthcare industry and how it led you to your role as the Director of Credentialing Services at DocStar Medical Partners? I started working in the healthcare staffing industry in 2011, initially on the administrative side of things. Not too long into my journey I was introduced into the world of credentialing and have never looked back!

Credentialing plays a crucial role in ensuring quality healthcare delivery. What aspects of your role do you find most fulfilling, and how do you contribute to maintaining the high standards of credentialing at DocStar Medical Partners? For me it has always been about the people. Whether it be supporting the clients that we work with, the providers we are assisting, our hardworking sales team or the amazing ladies I get to do this beside each day. There is nothing more fulfilling than to be able to work together throughout each process, overcome challenges and then watch all our hard work pay off! We hold ourselves to the highest standards as we understand the importance of establishing and maintaining the relationships we have worked so hard to build. Being a part of a locum tenens company involves addressing unique challenges. How do you approach leading your team to overcome obstacles, and how does your passion for your work contribute to the overall success of DocStar Medical Partners? There is a quote that I am reminded of and it says ” There’s really not a difficult thing unless you decide it’s a difficult thing. Otherwise, it’s just the next thing you are figuring out” And that could not be truer for what we do on a daily basis in the credentialing world. (and maybe even life in general 😉) There are always things we must figure out, days that don’t go as planned, priorities that get shifted.. How we decide to handle it all, how we treat each other during those challenges and then the actions that we take to overcome each thing are really what matters. We’ve been diligent about fostering an environment to support each other, cheer for each other and then to be compassionate and show grace when things go sideways. The work will always be the work and I strongly believe that when we show up for each other in all ways big and small, the results speak for themselves. It is never lost on me that most companies don’t operate this way, and it motivates me even more to be fully present and give as much as I can to this team each day!

I am the most proud of how thoughtful and purposeful we have been in choosing how to grow, knowing when to integrate changes and assess for new processes all the while still maintaining the core values that DocStar was founded on
